Is it possible if I can only sync the contacts from my gmail account, not the emails

I have 1 Hotmail account which is my primary account for the Lumia 640 phone. But I have another gmail account which has some contacts. When I add the gmail account, phones syncs all the gmail contacts as well as its calender and emails. But I just want the contacts from my gmail account.

Is there a way where I can choose what to be synced and what not from a mail account. I tried finding such settings but was not able to. Can anybody help. Thanks in advance.

Go to "Accounts --> email & app accounts" section, when you select your gmail account, there should be a button that says "Manage".
From there, select the "Change mailbox sync settings" option and from there, there should be options to turn on/off email, calendar, and contacts in the Sync options section.
