Is podcast subscription chargeable?

I recently updated podcast app on L1320. Little. Bit confused, is podacst subscription free or chargeable? Because my balance was deducted. Will files download from app also free or chargeable? Please tell me in details.

I've never seen any paid podcasts using the Podcast app. Every podcast I've seen could be downloaded or streamed free of charge.
