Is the power cover prone to problems?

I was searching ebay and found quite a few power covers for sale for parts as not working. I even saw several lots of power covers for sale. I dont see this for the type or touch covers. I wanted to buy a power cover for my surface 2 online as they are cheaper than the store, but there's almost too many broken ones for sale, then open box, warranty returns, etc.

Thx for the advice.

I've had one for about 4 months and use it for my original Surface Pro. No problems yet. I don't understand why people would sell broken ones instead of getting a warranty replacement. They have a 1 year warranty and the product hasn't even been out for 6 months yet.

You make a good point. I had someone tell me many stores toss returned items, so maybe someone dumpster dived and is making money on the side selling broken PC hardware?

I just thought it would be neat to have and solve 2 problems. More run time and a better keyboard. I mainly use my surface 2 to review power point, pdf and word docs. So far what little typing I have needed to do on my touch cover 1 has taken a lot of focus and cramped my typing speed.

Wonder if I can use the warranty. I could save 75% the cost of a new one by buying a broken one and getting it serviced under the warranty. :orly:
