Is the Snapdragon 810 a problem? Let's share.

With rumors of a 940/XL potentially carrying a Snapdragon 810, articles like this one have me wondering if a strategy like LG's makes/made more sense and whether MS should have gone with the SD 808 instead.

Does any OEM using the SD 810 risk having the same problems? It seems like pretty consistent coverage, so I'm inclined to believe that this is just a really hot running chip. So, it's sure starting to seem that way.

If that's the case, it just keeps looking better for Samsung and Apple this year. My hope is that maybe the midrange will be the sweet spot if the SD 810 keeps having problems.

Thoughts?

I'm somehow hoping that the reason we have to wait until November (Dan Rubino's words) is that Microsoft Mobile will surprise us and be the first OEM to launch with Snapdragon 820.

Microsoft has forced us to wait nearly 2 years (those of us in countries without 1520/930, such as Canada even longer) for a flagship device. If they use the 810 and it causes nothing but problems, what an embarrassment and marketing blunder that would be after all this time.

It's time for Lumia to lead the way and not play catch up for once. Make a huge splash, be first on the market with the SD820.

Well, Microsoft did mention that Continuum did require unreleased Qualcomm processors, so maybe the 820, or something more. It's all for the new software that's coming (Continuum and Windows Hello).
