Now that Windows Phone 8.1 is released. Why can't MS provide Call Recording facility? It is a very basic functionality that any cheap type phone has.

Due some rights of privacy, legitement bladybla MS desided never implement such a function or allow such apps.
Whenever you receive a phonecall, the mic automaticly cuts off any recording.

As SSgt Bruskowiz stated, you cannot call record on WinPhone. Any apps running when a call comes in/out will automatically have it's access to the mics disabled. That's for security.

The only way I can see MS allowing call recording is if it's managed by a Group Policy, thus it'll need to be connected to a MS-powered corporate network. Possibly a function for Win10, but definitely not Win8.1.
