Is there any hope for my Windows 8.1 phone to be upgraded?

I have just upgraded my Nokia Lumia 620 to the latest version of 8.1 ( I had thought I already had 8.1 but it seems not.) And now when I check for an upgrade to Windows 10 I'm told that my phone is not supported for that upgrade. Is there any chance that the windows 10 mobile upgrade will become available for my phone in the future or must I buy a new phone?

Support is ending for Windows Phone 8.1.
Older phones are not upgradable to WM10 thru official means.
Done deal.

You will need to buy a phone that was designed to run WM10.
