After recent updates some Windows icons (e.g. Photos, Films & TV, but also the MSN Weather app from Windows Store) are just grey silhouettes. If I right-click on them in the drop-down menu I cannot access their Properties option and so cannot change icons. Is there still a way around to link the apps to other than these grey shape icons? (Windows programs like Skype, Outlook, OneDrive still allow icon changes via the Properties option)

Apology for my late reply, and thanks. But no this doe't answer my question. Your link applies only to the four standard desktop icons for Recycle Bin, Control Panel, Network, and My PC. - The icons I'd like to change are Microsoft apps such as for "Photos", "People", "Snip & Sketch", "Alarms & Clocks", etc. They all are grey-silhouette icons in my Windows 10, and I can't change them - as other application icons - by rightclicking -> Properties -> Change icon... It's more of an esthetic issue, I admit, so I guess I just let them be blocked in grey. Cheers.

The grey icons may mean they need to be updated. If you go to the Microsoft Store > sign in > click the ... on the far right > Download and Updates and click Get Updates and wait for them all to update. Once done, restart, are the icons back to normal?
