Hi! I really got tired of being locked into the apple ecosytem and my butterfly keyboard failed on my macbook pro. I got an HP Omen 17 on black friday. the box says it has a 1080p 144hz display, i7 9750h-6 core, 16gb of ram, rtx 2070 8gb, 1tb hdd and 256gb ssd. Is this considered high end or low end. I browse the web, listen to spotify, and play an occasional game. I don't use my computer for a ton. I'm loving being in pc land so far it's far less restrictive.

, that is a high end gaming laptop lol. If you're playing heavy / beautiful / high budget games the laptop it is very good for your use case (otherwise the specs are overkill), especially if you don't mind the weight. If you want something more portable a 15 inch gaming laptop with e.g. a nvidia 1660ti, 2060 or 2070 might be a better choice with as small downside the slightly smaller screen. If you want to save money go for Intel i5 instead of i7 or i9 in a laptop (e.g. i5-8300H is already a very good cpu for gaming, note the 'H' is important here).

Depending on the game, this may have been overkill. By a lot. Don't get me wrong...you bought a very good laptop gaming PC. But if the games you play are older, this would have been like buying an Aston Martin to go get groceries down the block.

It sounds like it will definitely meet your needs. However, as @Golfdriver97 said, depending on what games you are intending to play, that's what will really tell if the laptop meets your needs.
