Is this normal or should i contact Microsoft again

So I'm now on my second Surface 2, the first one kept developing screen artifacts and freezing up about once a day so I contacted Microsoft and they sent me a new one. Unfortunately this one seems to have its own problems, when I try and wake it up after the device goes to sleep half the time it only comes up to a plain white screen. I then have to keep pressing the power button to blank the screen and then repressing to until it come back up with the normal lock screen. Is this a common problem, is there a way to correct it, or should I / can I call Microsoft again? I've done several resets both keeping my data and restoring to factory but it has made no difference.
 
I would give it another shot. I've never had the screen artifact thing (although I do have the display crashing). I'm not sure why some get the display artifacts and others don't.
