I am 70 yrs old live in Florida and have no stairs in my house. I have had my Band2 for a few months now and it seems to record between 150 and 250 stairs every day I have recorded well over 4000 stairs. I don't work, barely go out of the house, what in the world could be causing this and how can I get this resolved should be showing 0 stairs except occasionally a stair climb at the mall. :crying:

any help appreciated
Bert :crying:

The stair counter thingy uses a barometer and tries to use changes in atmospheric pressure to measure ups and downs. Down there you probably get a lot of goofy weather, storm systems etc, so that might explain it.

We do, but not every day, I record 150 to 250 stairs every day since I bought it and in Microsoft health are over 4000 stairs and I am 70 with no stairs in my house I dont think the barometric pressure changes any where near that much, due you??????

Well I'm no meteorologist, but maybe if you're near the coast or something you might get a lot of pressure fluctuations. I'm talking out my rear end for the most part though. I'm just going on similar comments to yours that I saw on the MS Community pages. Atmospheric pressure is often mentioned as a possible culprit.

Have you tried updating your firmware and resetting the band? I ask as with the most recent firmware my stair counts are much more in line with reality. I was getting 20-30 floors on a 30 min treadmill/ elliptical workout and am now getting 0...

Been there done that several times over the months, Update Microsoft is going to exchange my Band for a new one they believe it is defective. Got the OK last night so Im waiting for the authorization and RMA and will see if a new one solves the problem.
thanks for your help

Today 3/02/2016 went to Microsoft Store and they exchanged my Band for a new one after determining it was defective. You can not beat Microsoft support they are tops in my book.
