Issues with Windows Defender Security Centre

Has anyone had issues with the interface showing random, garbled or incorrect text as of the latest update?
 
Since the update before this one, I can open security center but it will not run any of the three choices of scans. It looks like it accepts the command but nothing happens. I thought I had started a full scan and left it overnight but it did not even start.

Any ideas on what's going on.

I haven't had that issue but the Controlled Folder Access and Exploit Protection settings are a mess at the moment as of the last update. You can see this for yourself if you open those settings.

For the issues you're having I would run the Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth command from an admin Powershell or Command Prompt and then run sfc /scannow
