Keurigs are about as convenient as coffee makers can get, but there's one caveat: they get real gunky, real fast. If you only drink coffee, you might not notice it right away, but anyone that's ever made a cappuccino or hot cocoa with their countertop brewer can attest to the fact that a Keurig's guts can get icky quickly, resulting in sluggish brew speeds and subpar drinks. The problem is made even worse if you have hard water. People often end up rinsing with vinegar, soaking in descaling solution, and prising apart the pod holder to try and clean the insides. It's a pain, sometimes literally, as there are all sorts of needles and fiddly pokey bits lying in wait to jab you.
