Keyboard backlight time

Does anyone know if there's a way to extend the time of or turn the keyboard backlight on permanently? I like to use the backlit keys when I'm in the dark but they cut off too often. It would be nice to have them stay on when I have my surface book plugged into wall power or at least stay on a bit longer. Any idea on how to do this?

I'm going to admit that I didn't realize they turn off (if in fact that's normal behavior). I've had mine off all the time from the beginning, though I've cycled through all the brightnesses just to see what it looks like, so I know my backlighting does work. I'm curious what others who use the backlighting have to say about this...

I would also like it if the keyboard lights were always on. I have not found a way to make that happen.

Agreed, have been searching for a way to keep the Surface Book backlight settings from timing out so frequently, especially when plugged in.

This is the main reason why I use my MacBook Air to run Windows 10. Bootcamp allows me to do that.

I bought it before the surface line of tablets came out. Macs have good build quality but lousy OS.

It's hard to believe this wasn't added. Seems like an easy feature to implement.
