Kickstand question

So I had the original Surface RT and just upgraded last week to the Pro 3. I have to say it's an amazing device, well worth the upgrade.

Just a question about the kickstand, I'm not sure if this is normal or not. When I open it there is no resistance at all until the kickstand gets to the first position. Pushing down a little bit at this point will make the kickstand close, also with no resistance. But I have not had any problems when using it since it feels very firm and doesn't move. I really hope this isn't an issue, I'd rather not have to get it replaced.

Thanks in advance!

Yep, you have a fully functioning kickstand. No resistance, then resistance. There isn't anything half way or an initial "click". You get used to it quickly.

Great, thanks a lot! I just wasn't sure with this kickstand coming from the original RT that had one position. This is much better.

I have a quick question, if you don't mind me hijacking this post... I've had my i7/256GB SP3 for a few weeks now, and the kickstand works very well, but it seems like it might be something that the resistance would wear out over time. It's very tight now, but has anyone seen/heard of the resistance failing after a while, or does it stay strong?

I've had my SP3 since June and I haven't noticed any loosening of mine, and I use mine everyday.

Ok, cool. It just seems like it would be something that would loosen over time, but glad to hear you've had no issues.

Thanks!! :)
