[L1020] No weather alerts?

Hello,

I have a Nokia Lumia 1020 thru AT&T with WP8.1 installed. I just realized that I am not getting any weather alerts. We have a friend in from back east. She has a Samsung thru Cricket and she is getting emergency weather alerts for Vegas. Hers come at about the same time as the Cox TV alerts occur. My phone was completely quiet. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Open Messaging>Settings>Emergency Alerts.



Mine are off, since I don't want them, but tapping will turn them on.

The Presidential Alerts cannot be turned off.

Wow, this section is not in our messaging settings. Perhaps it's specially integrated for u guys in the states. Wish it was implemented for outside US regions, would be awesome.

Yes, it is US only, due to our laws. Wireless Emergency Alerts

Hopefully more countries will implement something similar if their citizens are interested.

Hello,

Mine are all turned ON. Have been since I got the phone. AT&T tells me it has something to do with the weather app that came with the phone. Nokia kinda thinks the same thing. All alerts are set to ON in my Bing Weather app that came with the phone. Still nothing.

Our friend from Pittsburgh was getting the alerts while staying at our house in Vegas, for Vegas. She has a Samsung on Cricket. I do not understand why hers is working and mine is not.
