[L735] How to force 2G connectivity?

I'm in the UK using the giffgaff network (runs on the O2 network.) In the Network/SIM settings I can only select 3G or 4G as the preferred network, but I really want to use 2G as I'm not a data user and 2G prolongs the battery life.

(I have been able to use 2G on giffgaff using a Moto G 4G (Android) handset, though I did have to use either an annoying workaround or an Xposed Framework Module to do so.)

Is my request possible on WP?
