[L930] Release date for 8.1 Update 2?

Does anyone have a view as to when WP8.1 update 2 will be released for the Lumia 930? Is it worth moving to the Windows Insider program to get/try it?

Update 2 on my 930 doesn't change much. New settings page but not much else.

Yeah its pretty much just the new settings page at this point. The 640 already comes with update 2 so this will probably start rolling out over the next couple of months.

I m not able to get this update even though I tries to shift from slow ring to fast ring in Windows Insider...Help...

Lookup on wmpoweruser. They've a gif with before and after animations. I have it both on my 920 and 830 running Update 2. The animations are fairly noticeable.

Yes it does (tested keyboard only)

The feature i noticed is now even the RAW file has geotag which was a known bug earlier

Sure. Nothing gets f***ed up, all you get is a nice settings sorting, that's all...

GDR2 update was available only for couple of hours and was pulled back by MS for unknown reason. People who installed it during this period only got GDR2

Not really, it was available 2-3 weeks ago (830 and 920 Rogers) I haven't checked but it might be available today as well. I guess only some variants still have the update enabled

They're not as good though. Really jumbled and messy compared to GDR1.

I like them, feels kinda complete. GDR1 animations felt slower to retract (my thoughts)
but yeah it doesn't make much difference

Dude, you are totally wrong! Some firmeware versions just don't get the update. If you flash any 930 to a those who get the GDR2 through Windows Insider you can still do it.

MS never pulled this update back!

Just replaced my 1020 with a 930 yesterday and before testing the new Lumia camera app I upgraded to gdr2. Stupid mistake I know. It won't save photos. Classic and Windows camera still work.
