Lags...?

Everytime my freespace goes below 2.5GB my phone lags terribly, especially in games (low FPS). Sometimes it cannot send messages immediately after I hit the button, but after 5 seconds. Sometimes the letters won't go down, sometimes it cannot open apps/games -_-

Am I the only one experiencing this? Why is this happening to me? I'm so frustrated with HTC 8X/Windows Phone 8. I wish I never bought it and waited for a Lumia.

Noooo! I Rebooted it countless times and soft reseted once.
I cannot believe that I have to hard reset... Is there a way to back-up my contacts? I am going to hard reset it right now. I cannot take Other Storage anymore.

For instance (with 1.8 GB Free) my Temple Run:Oz runs like crap. It's really laggy and has got hiccups. Before I downloaded few apps it worked okayish and now...

2.15 GB of apps
5.57 Other
2.40 System
1.91 Free Space.
I'm going to delete all of my music collection. I have no apps nor games that I want to remove :/

I think you should copy your pics to your laptop/desktop. Then restart and see how much it got freed.

Still if nothing works, make a hard reset and install those apps/games only that you require. Because issue of limited space of 14 GB odd will persist at all times in future. You might think of being selective of needed.

If you use a Microsoft account, the contacts are synced through that. Emails and calendar events are too. You can backup the rest using a PC. Don't forget to check also if your apps have backup features so you can retain individual apps' data. I forgot to do this when I did a factory reset T_T oh well. I hope you don't.

I've noticed this too on my 8x. My 'other storage' is almost 8GB which leaves me with 29MB of available storage. This causes my phone to be abysmally slow sometimes. However GDR2 will supposedly fix this issue so I'd advise you wait if your patient enough.

O____O! I hope it will not go any higher. I managed to get some more free space with an app and now I've got over 3GB Free.
Going to wait for GDR2 (wish I had Wi Fi at home -sigh-).
But guys... my 8X still plays Temple Run: Oz horribly. It looks like the tiles (ingame) are glowing,moving and it lags. If I had to guess, it would run at 15 fps if not lower.

What's wrong with my STUPID device?

Are you even sure it is a free space issue? 1.5 GB is pretty big for a game to keep playing with. I think you need to look elsewhere.

Mine lags as well at times. It doesn't happen all the time and I can't figure out what I do to get it started. Sometimes its very bad. Mostly, it works perfectly but just those sometimes . . .

Where exactly to look at? The game? It cannot be, since most of them lag due to the problem that I don't know. Besides, they run smooth as reviewers says.

My device is crap? How can I even figure that out? And how will I get a replacement? "Hey guys! My games are lagging. I need a new device" Reply: "It's a WP... What did you expect." <--- Best Scenario probably.

This seems big to me. Since the "Other" storage is there for caching content, I'd say that it's gone slightly kaka and defragmentation has caused the device to slow down rather than stay snappy. I'd recommend a factory reset.

When i had the 8X, and like maybe around 1GB/800MB if free space i would get lags, navigation around the OS, i was a wuss at the time to do a hard reset so i just uninstalled programs and deleted a good number of music from the phone. I did a power cycle and it was good. Just make sure to keep it above 2GB and you should be fine.
