I found this out by accident last evening. Since the update released Tuesday, I can now close folders on my start screen using the back key. I was not able to do this before.

Closing folders using the back key was available even before Tuesdays update. Looks like the problem persisted only on your phone.

Doesn't work for me :/ it just takes me back to the previous app running instead. Running the latest update too

This is as it's been since 7.0 -- pressing the Windows key brings the user to the "home" view, which is top of the Start screen. Scroll down on your Start screen and don't expand a folder; when you tap the Windows key, you'll scroll to the top.

When I pressed the back key previous to the last update it would take me back to whatever app was last in task manager, or did nothing at all. Sometimes electronics are plain haunted. LOL!
