Location when screen on?

Hi everyone

I just have a small question: how come my phone always searches for my location every time I turn on the screen?
If I'm not mistaken, this hadn't been the case in 8.1 and I'm guessing it also 'drains' the battery a little every time I check for notifications...

If you had a forecast app in lockscreen on homescreen , it's normal

Thanks for your reply. I just checked and no, the only forecast app I have is MSN Weather but it doesn't have location enabled.

in settings go to Localization and check what apps can access it. Usually cortana, outlook, calendar...

I just turned off every app in the list (including Cortana), and it still detects my location :/
