Lose connectivity to service provider

I periodically loose the connection with my service provider. To restore it I must restart the phone.
Is this a software bug?
Any suggestions on how to overcome this?

Go to SETTINGS -------> CELLULAR scroll down and in "Network Selection" choose your phone carrier instead of automatic....

Exactly, I have to be near a cell, to have good conectivity.

Also having a similar problem with my lumia 920. Dev preview 8.1 and rogers canada rom. Carrier ATT.
