Lost files after upgrading to Windows 10.

I seem to have lost all my files after upgrading to W10. Had them last night and today can't find them. Have checked Network, Windows.old....any suggestions on where else to look.

Re: Lost files after upgrading to Windows 10.

Same here. I only got the message my upgrade was available yesterday--I think they were having some issues with migrations from WIN 8.1 Pro. Anyway, after a lot of searching, which isn't intuitive with WIN 10, I found them under Local Disk C:-->Users->[my old user file]->documents->document list !!!The shortcuts I had before are gone and so far I haven't found a way to make this location the default for file searching from my Apache Open Office programs.

Same here.OS created two new folders from the old desktop (windows 8 pro) that are empty. The adv of windows upgrade is misleading.I can not find my files anywhere.I do not know if downgrading to Windows 8 will recreate the original folders.

One other caveat: Are you logged in as a different user? I found most of my missing folders after I realized that, by default, the installation was using my administrator account. Once I logged to my regular user account I was able to search them out. I'm still trying to understand that new Quick Access filing system as it seems to not be directed deeper into my file tree to search under users.
