I have a 2TB Samsung drive (as drive E:) on my Windows 10 PC on which I store most of my data. After running a Clean on it I discovered that in Windows Explorer it is now showing "This folder is empty" and all my data is gone. However, when I look at the properties in shows 1.39 TB of user storage so I suspect that somehow the file allocation table got corrupted. Before restoring most of the stuff from backup I want to ensure that the data is completely unrecoverable. I have already tried a number of apps (eg, DiskInternals NTFS recovery, EaseUS and Testdisk) to resolve the problem but none have succeeded. Can anyone suggest any other options for me?

Thanks

I had this happen to me with an external a few months ago after a Windows Update. I thought I lost everything but it still showed all the space on the drive was still taken. Check your permissions and make sure they didn't get changed. After fooling around with that, I got access to my drive again.
