lost skype about 3 months ago?

I tried to use skype and all my contacts were gone and it would not allow me to use.
what happened?

One of two things have probably happened, 1 is your account has been suspended or blocked for an infringement of rules, or 2 and the more likely is you have two Skype accounts and you are logged into the wrong one.

If the latter try signing out of Skype and then put in your old Skype login details.
