Lufthansa is the latest airline to equip pilots with the Surface Pro 3

Earlier this month, Austrian Airlines announced that its pilots would start using the Surface Pro 3 as electronic flight bags instead of paper-based manuals, and now Lufthansa is following suit. The airline purchased more than 5,000 Surface Pro 3 tablets that will allow pilots to check weather reports, charts and navigation utilities in-flight. The tablets will be made available to pilots in all regions where Lufthansa flies, with the rollout commencing from February 2015.
