Lumia 1020 Camera Battery Case has stopped recharging

My Nokia PD-95G Lumia 1020 Camera Battery Case, bought in late 2013, does not charge anymore. LED flashes slowly when connected but does not fill up to indicate a full charge. And when connected to phone does not discharge battery into the phone.

The button still works with the phones camera.

Is this normal because of its age?

Well, rechargeable batteries have a life cycle. Depends on the full charge cycle, have a limited number of charges, then die ...

So it could be due to the "always/often" low voltage level.

But it also could be a problem with the usb connector.
What hapens if you leave the cover on your phone and connect it to the wall plug. Does the battery of your phone charge but the batery of the grip not. If so it would indicate a problem of the battery in the grip.
If the battery of your phone does not charge it would indicate a problem with the USB.
