Recently got the Lumia 1020 because the camera. I also bought the camera grip. After I half way press the shutter button to achieve focus, if I keep it pressed and maybe moving the camera to fine tune the framing, possibly 5-10 sec later, the Lumia screen would dim, which makes me think because the framing changes the auto setting is compensating for exposure which is not. Is this normal? Is there a setting to turn this off?

Thanks?

Also, the screen will dim if it goes into battery saver mode. Is the battery fully charged when this happens?

This is normal.

The screen brightness could go down for a number of reasons, if the brightness is set at 'Auto' the phone will keep readjusting brightness.

Or if you use Battery Saver mode, that also reduces brightness.

The simple fix for this is too go into settings > brightness > set it to Medium or High.

In Windows Phone 8.1 you will be easily able to change your brightness from the notification center.

The battery with grip was fully charged when this happens. And I was only moving slightly to reframe so I do not think the subtle change will cause the Auto Brightness to dim the screen. The whole screen just dimmed a notch...feels like a power save behavior. But it mess you up thinking the exposure changed....will try to disable auto brightness. Thanks every one for the inputs.

The auto brightness will kick in with little or no movement at all. It uses an ambient light sensor and sometimes has a slight delay regarding the current lighting around you. I keep mine off.
