I got a new 1020 today and the battery is really bad... I lose a % every 1-2 minutes, I didn't have this issue with my 1320 so why is this happening? I have the brightness right down and most apps are turned off from running. I had this problem when I owned a 920 and people said it will improve over time, I feel like I wasted my money... I also have 8.1 installed.

When I got my 1020 the battery seemed so bad for the first couple of days I thought it might be a duff battery. Things rapidly improved. This is a common experience with new phones.

Agreed.. Its called a "Wake Up" period.. what you do for the first 4 -5 charges.. charge too 100 %, then let it drop to 10%. and on one of the charges let it die completely.. then charge it full up.. this will wake up the Lithium ION battery.

Enjoy your 1020 and welcome :)

The 1320 has a massive battery. Like it's almost twice as big. Lol. Big phone = big battery. Small phone = small battery.

A "power user" can easily go through two full batteries on a 1020. Battery life is probably its worst downside.

Besides that, great phone! Lol

Ive always found the battery to be good using black wp8.0 firmware .

The cyan update became available yesterday evening and after updated that and it fully charged and just having a play n explore new features for nolonger than 1 hour with just a few apps updated via wifi and i was shocked to see the battery saver shield popup!

Im hoping its just the case that lots of apps now had permissions to run in backgroung disabled all but a few and back on charge it is :-)
