Lumia 521 refuses to update to GDR2/amber

Hi fellow WP users. I've searched and searched for a resolution to this but it seems like no one else has this issue. My new Lumia 521 is about a week old now. It came installed with 8.0.10211.204 and I know that the update for this phone and my carrier (t-mobile) is available because my wife's phone, also a 521, did and OTA update a couple of weeks ago.

I've tried manually searching for updates many, many times and each time it says that my phone is up to date. I'd like to try updating this phone because there are some other odd issues that I hope an update will take care of - severe battery drain and intermittent not recognizing the microSD card.

Any advice for the new guy.

Not sure why all of sudden people cannot update their phones with GDR2/Amber, 2nd one this morning with same question..

You may need to manually update your phone and lose your data, if you cannot update over the air with wifi.

So you need NCS
