Lumia 535 black screen, no tiles, but status bar and navigation bar visible

Hello everyone,
for my mother in law I bought Lumia 535. It worked OK for quite a while but few days ago everything went wrong. She described that while she was abroad and in roaming she wanted to turn off the phone and all this happened. In the main screen area where tiles are shown its simply black, but status bar and navigation bar visible. I can lock and unlock the phone, while locked it shows lock screen picture. While unlocked I can't swipe down status bar but in lock screen i can however buttons do nothing when pressed. If SIM card is inserted it is shown with the lock sign.

I restarted the phone normally
Restarted with Vol Down + Power
Removed the battery

Nothing helps. Is there anything I can do before trying hard reset? I do not want to lose all the data on the phone with hard reset

If she had her backup (settings) on, the phone would've created a backup image at some point, so you might not be losing as much as you think

She does not use settings section If she ones something then asks me to do it and i do not remember how it was set.
I just now realized that I can try connect to PC and seams I can access the phone, I will save camera photos at least.

Ok well for the future turn on the backup option makes the whole process easier. You can also let the photos upload to your personal onedrive account
