Yes.

1) Swipe down from the top for the notifications menu
2) Tap "All Settings"
3) Scroll down to "Internet Sharing"
4) Turn it "on" and set up your broadcast name/password as you see fit

On T-Mobile the LTE Internet sharing on the 635 works great. I assume that the carrier wouldn't matter since the phone has the capability built in. As always, your carrier will charge you against your data plan for the data that's transmitted.

What do you mean?

The setting area is "internet sharing" on WP as in do you wish to share your DATA connection with others, that in effect makes your phone an internet hotspot while sharing. So they are sort of equal.

YES you will be sharing your DATA plan with anyone connected to your Hotspot or tethering with your phone how ever you want to state it.

Now if you are asking will the 635 connect to other Hotspots like ATT Free WiFi yes it will if you let it that's what those free spots are for....WiFi sense has those settings..and while connected to WiFi you won't be using data.hotspots.jpg

Correct - I though the original question was is the AT&T version of the 635 capable of being/broadcasting an internet hotspot. It is and it works great at it, but you will be using your data plan for any data that flows through it. I use my 635 with my iPad and my Surface tablets and it works great.

If the question is will the 635 connect to an internet hotspot and utilize an already existing hotspot, like at a Starbucks or something, the answer is yes as well. In this case it will not use your data plan as the data is coming from the hotspot provider. I do this often as well; whenever i'm home I connect to my WiFi router in the house and when I visit people who have wifi or visit Starbucks or someplace with a hotspot I connect.

As for iOS Personal Hotspot....

"Personal Hotspot lets you connect your computers and devices to the Internet using the cellular data connection on your device. To use this feature, enable Personal Hotspot on your cellular data plan. Contact your carrier for information and pricing."

This is identical to how it works with the Nokia.... Certain ATT plans allow tethering/hotspot for free.

So there is nothing special about what iOS does over WP... So if you have a 200 MB plan and turn on Internet Sharing and other devices connect...that will use up your DATA on you monthly allotment..also you want to check if tethering is included in that plan or if its an extra charge.

If all you have is 200mb, using your phone as a hotspot will eat that up in no time. Maybe in a emergency but that is all. MMS uses your phone data (cell data) to send texts with pictures etc. If you don't have a wifi connection you can use your cell data plan to surf the web; but it will eat data quickly. Also your APN settings need to be set correctly on your phone and your network provider or you won't be able to use cell data to surf the web or send pictures with a text. Each provider has different setting so unless you got your phone from a provider there is no garantee your setting are correct. Same with unlocked phones the settings have to be put in.

First, I have a 200 Mb data plan. Second, I mean the broadcast of internet hotspots that uses a different plan. Like IOS.

???? And who's plan would this be? Like other said, that's what "Internet Sharing" does. Turns your phone into a hotspot, for up to eight devices I think, using your plan's data.

I'm on a Mobile Share plan, tethering uses data.
No such thing as a separate data allocation for referring as far as I know.

Can easily burn through data, but light usage on sites like WPC, Blackboard, Google Doc editing will be ok in a pinch, if claustrophobic.

(The base plan was 300 MB I thought, what's up with that, a legacy iPhone plan?)
