Hi, all. For some reason my Lumia 640 got faster since I googled about how to add a new app column on the screen.
I went to settings / display, and reduce the size of text, etc, from 200% (recommended), to 175%-
After that, for unknown reason the phone looks smother than before. not minimally laggy when opening an app. Beyond that, looks the screen looks gorgeous scaled, especially the Glance screen, or navegation bar.
Thought on this?.

Thanks for sharing this! I agree about the Glance screen and the navigation bar, especially the nav bar for me.

I noticed this as well.

I tried it on my 650, and it does feel faster!

Of course its faster. Everything on the screen is smaller and therefore lighter. Try running while carrying a 25 lb weight then while carrying a 10 lb weight. Same thing with smaller text, tiles, etc. ;)

That's a great point, but what I don't get is why it feels like there's a difference when it comes to apps.

Thanks for this. Saw the option but never tried it until I saw this post. Love the seeing at 175% and it does seen smoother. I would have thought the opposite would be true.

I changed mine from 200% to 175%, but I can't really say I've noticed any difference in performance. Just more eyestrain...

I changed the scaling to 175 and the phone does feel a tad more responsive, but to me it's nothing significant. Maybe it depends on the configuration and installed apps. But I noticed the multitasking view changed the layout and I am really liking this new style. I think I will keep it this way even if the text is now smaller..:-)
