Lumia 720 loudspeaker

I experienced a problem with the loudspeaker of my week old Lumia. It stopped working. The headset worked fine, but no sound at all from the Lumia.
I checked settings, did 3 soft resets and 3 hard resets to no avail.
I took the phone to the store I bought it at and they (apparently) fixed a software error in the device.

My question is, if this happens again, is it possible for me to flash my Lumia myself? Is there software available for this? What are the chances of me bricking my phone? Thank you.

Did you ask the people in the store what they did to fix the problem?

They didn't say. Where I live there isn't a Nokia Care Center. I assume they reflashed it. Because it took them less than 2 hours to repair.
