Switch off your phone and connect it to your PC (PC is on) and switch your phone on.
Switch off your phone and your PC and connect your phone to your PC switch on your phone and after your phone is on switch on your PC.
Use another USB cable
USB another USB port
Use another PC
If all of this does not work try a hard reset on your phone.
If all above does not work then your USB port of your phone is probably damaged.

Usb port works as usb data connection and for charging. Just that it doesn't get detected as a storage drive in any of the PCs. Even windows recovery tool doesn't detect the phone

Sorry but now i do not understand you at all.
"Usb port works as usb data connection and for charging"
Does this mean that if you connect your phone to your pc it is charging and you can copy data from your phone to your PC.

Exactly my point. It get charged while connecting to pc, but wont be detected as a storage in order to copy / share files. Also wont get detected while running windows recovery tool

Unplug your phone from USB

Get this tool... View any installed/connected USB device on your system

There is no install. It runs out of the folder. Right click the .exe and "run as admin" so you have permissions. Delete any USB drivers marked Nokia or Lumia. Close USBDeview.

Plug your phone into the USB and let it install a fresh set of drivers.

Enjoy.

Thanks for thr info.

But only my Lumia doesn't detect in my or other PCs. Other phones easily get detected

No. There is no OTA revert from 10. You need a USB connection.

Have ypu taken the phone to a repair facility to have the USB port tested and potentially replaced?

The same problem exists for my Lumia 620 also. I wonder why

Aside from being Windows Phones, try to list down the things that are common between your Lumia 620 and your Lumia 730, but are different from the rest of your phones with which you don't experience that issue.

Looking forward to your list. I suspect it's the Windows 10 Tech Preview at fault.
