I wanted to prove that screenshots and previews had very little to do with the processing to here:

Settings: Flourescent lighting. Rest Auto: 1/7s shutter, ISO800, Exposure 0.0, Ratio 4:3.

1st: Screenshot before processing
2nd: Real picture transferred from Camera Roll
3rd: Screenshot in HD Viewer after processing

Updated yesterday and everything is fine here.

After lots of tests, the update even fixed the pictures post-processing bugs! ... Well, for me anyways... I was little afraid to update after reading all the complaints but my pics are coming out perfectly now!

Battery drains a lot faster though!!! (Was at 2% before and now is at 6%) .... Hopefully the 8.1 update will fix this.

For example. Here's 2 pics of my son in front of his computer. 1 before black and 1 after black.

Just notice the blue wall. You can clearly see the differences.

You just shot yourself in the foot mate. The Black picture looks much more washed out.

I think the colors in my pics look more real like this. No more of the yellow-ish green-ish hue in my pictures.

here's another before-after ...

I would love my phone even more if MicroKia will removed the post processing.

if the 1st picture is before black, I prefer it much more than after black, colors used to pop up (just like portico update), which for me and everyone who saw those photos were amazing about how ''deep'' the colors and contrast were.. Picture after black seems like the glass on the less is dirty, don't know, colors washed out..

I would go to portico again, the problem is, there are too much new features on amber/black that I use, starting on nokia camera and glance, for example (which is VERY handy, since we don't have notification light), and with wp8.1 coming, we can't live on portico anymore..
