Lumia 920 Bricked

Hi all,

I've been in the Insider program for ages and usually everything was fine, but then I stopped using my Windows Phone for a while because my 920's performance was just awful. When I picked it up again it had a lot of updates to install. I don't know where it stopped working, but it won't even boot now. When I tried to install one of the updates, it just kept going and going with the gears and made no progress. Then it gave me a sad face and that's it.

What do I do?? I'm fine with leaving the insider program and just going with the official releases, but first I need it to turn on!

Try using Windows Device Recovery Tool to recover the phone, but keep in mind that your data will be lost.

I don't care about that. This was always a backup device anyway. I just want it to work! I'll try the recovery tool. Thanks!

Windows recovery tool don't always help. I tried simple process of downgrading from W10 to W8.1. Now I have a bricked 1520!

It worked for me (thanks Conan143!!). I'd love to have 10 on it, but with its horrible performance before, I'm fine leaving it at 8.1. It is, after all, just a backup phone for me.

It helps anyway, which sign you got on your screen? Replug it again and restart procedure

He should go back to 8.1 and restart the update one by one. Worked for me.
