Lumia 920 region locked?

Not sure how to name the thread.
Anyways I've got the chance to buy a new Lumia 920 off a German on line shop. Was thinking of buying one and give it to a friend, however I'm from Italy and I started to worry if the phone will actually work here in my country. I asked that shop and they didn't know if I could encounter any problems with it.

Can someone confirm that the phone will work just fine? I can simply go and change the language, am I right? Not sure about the rest though.

It should work as long as its unlocked and you are willing to use it on a carrier that supports gsm frequencies

FYI I am currently using a Lumia 920 from Rogers CA here on T-Mobile US

Bought my unlocked Lumia from an on-line store in Hong Kong. It has Hong Kong variant firmware...and works fine on all networks in the UK.
