I'm wondering if anyone has heard anything about overall device size of the 950XL? I currently use a 1520 as my daily driver and am interested in the 950XL as I think the slightly smaller screen wont be too much of a sacrifice. I'm wondering if the slightly smaller screen and on screen keys (leading to smaller bezel) will make the 950XL noticeably smaller than the 1520.

.3 inches isn't a huge deal but you might notice it. Also, the 950 XL is bound to be smaller in every other dimension as well (except possibly thickness).

I use a Lumia 1520 and my uncle uses a Lumia 640 XL.

Though the Lumia 640 XL feels cheaper the size is definitely is more ergonomic and easier to handle.
My guess is the Lumia 950 XL will retain the premium feel of the Lumia 1520 but will be easier to handle like the Lumia 640 XL

I have a Nokia Lumia 1520 and I have held the Lumia 640XL.

The 720p screen makes me gag.

I use the phone/tablet to read Kindle and watch Netflix and Youtube video.

Lumia 1520 rules.

950XL is a throwback vrs the 1520.

I am a spoiled size queen.

The device already looks sleeker in the pics we've seen. It definitely looks thinner. I also have a 1520, and have adjusted to the size. But I'm looking forward to the 950 XL because the size/design looks like it will be more comfortable in hand.

Having owned the L1520 for quite a while now, and used it as my daily driver after the L920... I wouldn't mind going to the L950XL. Might be a better fit in the pocket. Because that's my biggest gripe with the L1520.

Every picture/render shows much more space between the screen and the top and the bottom of the phone. And at least as much on the sides as the 1520. Not good. I understand they can't do things like generate sound from the screen but I want a phone that has the absolute most possible of the width and height filled with screen.

I can see the top bezel being larger, but not any of the others. Besides, even if the bezels were all the exact same size as the Lumia 1520 the phone would still be a bit smaller in every dimension.

640XL and 950XL have the same screen size.

Yup, this guy is right. They both rock 5.7 inch screens. I mean, the resolution on the 950 XL is literally four times greater and it's completely different screen technology but the size is the same. The 950 XL should actually be a bit smaller with thinner bezels and a thinner frame. We'll see.

I'm excited to see the new Window's phone. Now that I've got a Surface 3, I'm really interested in upgrading to 1 of these 2 phones to compliment the Surface 3. I think the 5.7 inch screen will be great. I'm currently using a 5" Sony Xperia Z.

Hey could anyone tell me that the screen estate of the 950XL will be treated the same as the 1520? I was surprised to find out that on my dad's 640XL, we can only have 4 quick actions in the action centre.

Much more comprehensive Action Center in W10M, and collapsible.

Not all about Action Centre, it also determines the number of tiles in a row, more functionality for the keyboard (on WM10), the look of the Multi-Tasking View.
