Here is the link to official thread on microsoft forums about the same issue : http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...8024402f/e0e2c839-c04a-4452-819a-5a64eed4287a

you can follow these steps as mentioned in the forums:

Your error code 0x8024402f could be connection related since you already did hard and soft reset, Please try connecting to a different network then try the update again.

If these steps still does not work, please try resetting your phone using the Windows Device Recovery Tool.

If the same issue persist try to uncheck "Give me updates for other Microsoft products when I update Windows".
Here's how to do it:
1. Go to "Settings".
2 Then to "Update & Security".
3. Then to "Windows Update".
4. Tap on "Advance Options".
5. Uncheck "Give me updates for other Microsoft products when I update Windows"

If these steps still does not work, please try resetting your phone using the Windows Device Recovery Tool.

good research but did you consider that the option in point 5 doesn't exist for mobile devices?

You CAN set Microsoft apps (all apps really) to auto-update, it's in the "Store-App", under settings.
This is more or less the same as the checkbox, on the desktop version, except that it updates non-MS apps as well.
