Lumia handsets, dp and cyan

So my lad has a 520 which is running 8.1 update 1 dp but has not had the cyan update yet. Would someone clarify if you have to downgrade to 8 or is he going to pick it up at some point?

Both are correct. A fix will be made available, it's just a case of when.
