Hi I wanna buy the icon but I live in Costa Rica, is truly the phone unlocked out of the box??? I will be able to use it in my country with no problems????

It is not a global LTE phone. Check your countries carrier frequencies and see if this phone is compatible with that.

I had check the frequencies and is compatible with 2g and 3g, lte is not compatible, but I don't care about lte, is just starting to be available to the people, but is more in a testing stage

I can confirm the Icon is unlocked.
I can't confirm if it will work 100% (ignoring LTE) without extra tweaking.

The Icon is fully unlocked, except for LTE. I use in it Grenada (in the Caribbean) with voice and H+ data.

I wondering other thing, in Costa Rica there isn't a carrier with cdma technology, so I don't understand the esn and that stuff, what does that mean?? If it says bad esn I won't be able to use it???

The Icon has a GSM SIM card slot for international use. The CDMA radio is only for Verizon, which you don't need to worry about.

Try looking into the Nokia Lumia 930 instead, it's identical to the Icon (with two other color options) and is designed to be a global handset.

Between the 930 and the Icon, more than likely you'll be able to get one to work on a carrier in your area. What is the preferred carrier you'd like to get the device activated on?

It should work just fine with a GSM carrier, but you should ask your carrier if they will allow the phone to be used and if they support it's bands. Otherwise as mentioned above, just get the 930 when released.

I recently got an Icon, and I actually needed to look up the APN settings for it to be able to use data, and I needed to set the highest connection to 3G.

What carrier do you plan on using the phone with? The APN info should be easy to find with a simple search.

Also, if it says bad ESN, avoid it. It won't work.

Actually since I always buy AT&T phones to use them in my country, I know the apn setting

Okay so other than switching the highest connection speed to 3G and (maybe) needing to enter APN info, it's ready out of the box to be used. Just avoid bad ESN/IMEI devices.

The Lumia 930 is the world wide version of the Icon. That will be coming out real soon.

I already bought the phone I'm waiting for it to arrive
I hope that it's as good as the 920 when it came out

you won't be disappointed! I'm still drooling over it and I've had it for about a month now.
