A few years ago companies were packing as many ports into a computer as humanly possible, and now the trend has gone the opposite way. The most common port on newer computers is USB-C because it can be used to charge, sync, and more. Unfortunately, sometimes you need more than just one or two ports to do things during the day, but that's where hubs, dongles, and adapters come in handy.
