Marketplace performance also improves with Portico Update!!

I am using Nokia Lumia 920 (AT&T) and today got the Portico update. The update went smoothly. Apart from the documented changes like Message Draft, Wi-Fi Always On, etc. I also noticed that Marketplace (Windows Phone Store) performance is also improved. In Windows Phone 7.5 the Marketplace was smooth. But with Windows Phone 8 update the Marketplace started with a bit of noticeable delay. Maybe it was trying to update the featured apps every time I was launching Marketplace. Now it is smooth and loads instantly.

Did you have the bug where marketplace would never show app updates? If so, does it show a count of updates available?
