Messenger unsupported

I have received a message on messenger that it no longer works with the version of facebook I have, and its not working at all. I follow the link to the latest version of facebook, and it tells me my device does not support it. Now I cant use messenger at all. how do I get an updated version of facebook? I have uninstalled and reinstalled both, nothing has changed. I rely on messenger to communicate with my husband at work and without it I cant access messages except when logging in to facebook on my laptop.

You have a couple routes you can take:

1. If your device supports it, upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile using the Upgrade Advisor app in the Store.

2. Switch to a different device, I would recommend an Android or iOS device mainly because we know those won't be left unsupported.

3. Attempt to use the webpage mbasic.facebook.com.
