After 5 or 6 one hour unsuccessful calls to AT&T, I thought this forum could help.
I have the $25 GoPhone plan and, while in Mexico, I can phone US or Canada, send/receive messages (at no extra cost), like if the phone was physically in the US. The only difference is adding the + sign before dialing.
Calling a local Mexican number is proving impossible. After disabling the International Assist (that puts the + 1 in front of any number) calling a number like 443 410 nnnn gets me a 3 beep answer from Telcel, the connected carrier.
I have tried number of combinations like 01, 10, 0, 1, etc... no success and immense frustrations.
