I closed this thread earlier: http://forums.windowscentral.com/wi...embarrassing-sms-voice-recognition-error.html
The reason I closed it is obvious. There is no way that saying, "What does mother think of your haircut" turn into "suck my dick"

Then I get this PM from iamoniwaban http://forums.windowscentral.com/members/iamoniwaban.htm (He has 1 post, I didn't respond):

Why would you close that thread about SMS voice message?

It needs to be felt with and discussed. I have exactly the same issues.

Then I get this PM from michail71 (I didn't respond):

I'd be happy to send a screen capture to the mod as proof this is real. I figured the screen capture too inappropriate to post it here.

I have legitimate and serious concerns over the voice recognition performance. My prior postings here would show no history of trolling.

Then I get this PM from michail71:

I told him I would refer this matter to the administrator. I don't know if you want to say anything to him Dave.

I think I've only used speech about 5 times since I've had my device, so it really hasn't had a chance to learn my voice.

I can't do screenshots since I don't have a WP8 device, but I opened new SMS and said, "What does mother think of my haircut?" What I got was, "What does Margaret think of my haircut?" It missed "mother", but nothing remotely like what he got.

LOL! I didn't even bother trying to reproduce it  . I have voice recognition on my Trophy, my Galaxy S2 and my Nokia N8 and I know what types of mistakes voice recognition makes. He must think I am stupid.

Dick doesn't show up under the auto correct options, and frankly a screenshot is easy to fake.

Thank you, I'm good now. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't in trouble with the admins. You guys do a great job with these forums.

I just have a theory that MS may be optimizing hits based off of common phrases people are saying or "sexting" to each other. Given the recent growth in the user base this could perhaps be a growing issue.

Thanks!

I have been talking with palandri about this and why it was closed. I first want to explain that this thread was closed because of its unlikely nature and to protect you from accusations from the community. We have no reason to doubt you or the fact that this happened but there will be those that will question the likelihood of this mistake. Microsoft Tellme can be buggy at times depending on background noise and other factors it can come up with some wiled stuff I have experienced this myself. But to accuse the software of being flawed without being able to consistently reproduce the instance would put you in a bad light. This could cause this thread to quickly get out of hand. If you care to have this discussion I would suggest you start another thread and post about issues you are having that can be reproduced.

Let me know your thoughts,
Dave

Nice job Mr. Blake!

This line cracks me up:

I just have a theory that MS may be optimizing hits based off of common phrases people are saying or "sexting" to each other.

I might be a bit out of the loop, but I kinda doubt Microsoft is targeting "sexting" stuff, lol. I'm thinking that stuff is more popular among the teens and college crowd, but I can't really say. Front facing cameras weren't in existence before I got married.
