Microscratches??

I've had my latest Lumia 830 for about a week now and have already noticed several very small microscratches on the display. Only noticed them in the right light at the right angle, but thought this was very strange. I'm very careful not to allow anything but my pant pockets and fingers make contact with the screen and nothing else goes in the same pocket.

This wasn't the case with my previous Lumia 830s so I'm wondering if mine may just have a faulty display. Anyone else notice these microscratches?

I got mine since November. Although I initially tried a screen protector I quickly gave up on that because buttons wouldn't work 100%.
I just checked mine and there are no micro scratches on mine, no matter how carefully I look. According to your usage I'd say the coating may be incomplete. I'd certainly try to get this fixed.
good luck

Before I did RMA my phone to get a screen replacement due to a faulty one - my also had microscratches. These came up for me after some months of use, and even I am really really careful and never drop phone, and always keep the phone by itself in pockets. Will see if this new screen is the same.

But that one was definitely not scratch-resistant at all. Heck, even my old Nexus 4 that I had for 1 and a half year with same use - didn't have a single microscratch before I sold it! Either the displays vary in quality in the 830 - or it's just bad.

...reading this thread...runs to the light..checks my 830 carefully like a ninja....wooosh.. not a single scratch :)

As Derausgewanderte, even I don't have a screen protector for similar reasons. My first 830 nor my current replacement RM-985 have had any issues with scratching on the screen after 2 months of use

Even my Lumia 830 has microscratches deep. Though I DROPPED the phone face down from about 3-4 feet couple times, I don't know why are they only on the side??

Very much appreciate the quick feedback. Decided to swap the device... wonder if the sheen on the metal frame being ever so slightly duller and less pronounced correlated as well, just in that it may have been an unfinished lemon. Everything else on the device was working perfectly, though the display wasn't quite as bright as some previous 830s I had.

The one I swapped it out with is so far (fingers crossed!) the best Lumia 830 I've had yet... nice display, no sound distortion, more typical sheen on the metal frame. Only had it a few hours, let's hope there are no reboot issues or anything else, like being prone to microscratches.

Thanks again for the quick replies, I think my previous device had some kind of issue with the glass or coating.
