Microsoft account confusion

Hi, all. Years ago when I first created my Microsoft account I used my gmail address. I have since created an Outlook.com address and have changed that to my primary address for my Microsoft account. On my Surface Pro 3 it correctly shows my Outlook.com address now and the gmail address is no longer listed in my Accounts, which is the way I want it.

However, after resetting my Windows phone and signing in with my Outlook address, it still lists my gmail address as my Microsoft account. What gives?

I would expect the Microsoft Servers to catch up with this faux pas given time. Wait about 48 hours and see what happens...

Ah. Yes I did. I assumed it would only restore my apps and settings.

Should I reset and start fresh, or wait a bit for the servers to catch up and see if the account name changes?

Sure enough I awoke this morning and the correct address is showing under my Microsoft account. Thanks!
