Microsoft is set to double down on its generative artificial intelligence efforts in 2025 following the company's Vice Chair and President, Brad Smith's recent announcement of the tech giant's plans to invest up to $80 billion in building data centers.

Data centers also support cloud gaming, online shopping, and video streaming, all growth businesses that just "happen" to benefit from GPUs and fast RAM.

And since MS is in a neck and neck fight with AWS to fend off Google, Oracle, and IBM in the Data Center business investing in data centers looks like a wise use of the shower of money MS generates annually. It doesn't even need Generative Software to take over the world to add to the bottom line.
