Microsoft edge history deleting issue!

I encountered issue "some data could'nt be cleared. Please try again" repeatedly while deleting edge history. Plz help me regarding this issue

Same problem when I go to settings clear data and put a check on everything on the list it will not delete them. Also it will not let me click on a download link not even to cancel it. I tried to reset and do a clean install and edge still does not work right I have done this many time. now I am running chrome and every thing is fine.
